Nazareth Hospital has served Northeast Philadelphia and the surrounding region for over 75 years. In the 1930s, the founding Sisters prepared by sending its members to train at hospitals throughout the country. After six years of preparation, Nazareth Hospital opened on March 9, 1940, at a cost of $800,000 financed by the Sisters, their families and friends.
