A recipient of the Preservation Merit Award (2006), Nau's Enfield Drug has existed since the early 30s. Pharmacist Lambert Labay purchased the store from founders Hylton and Eleanor Nau and has maintained the church pew booths and wooden bar stools. The most treasured relic here is the soda fountain that dispenses the ubiquitous home made malts and shakes. The burgers and sandwiches are also great value for money. Made from fresh ground beef and grilled just right, the buns are topped with melting cheese. It's easy to forget... read more

I loved Nau’s on San Gabriel Same family I would proudly recommend 🤩
It reminds me of the drug store at home. It was GREAT for my birthday celebration.
Back in business! This local institution needs our help and your business. Open for breakfast & lunch 6 days a week (closed Sunday). Delicious breakfast tacos till 11 a.m., great burgers and old-style shakes and floats from the vintage soda fountain too. Stop by, chat with fellow diners at the counter, or grab a booth and stay awhile. Also a well known spot for movers, shakers, and local celebs. Say “hi” to Lambert & Laura when you go.
If you’re a nostalgia buff, this is the place to go. Hardly any drugstores left with a 50’s soda fountain— one which actually still makes ice cream sodas.
The food counter is super inefficient. I left after waiting more than 15 minutes for two breakfast tacos that I never got. It disappointing that this neighborhood spot has fallen in service dramatically.
Excellent old style cheeseburger. Tremendous ice cream sodas. One of the best and most straightforward restuarants in Austin. All kids in Austin should go there before they turn 10 to see what grand mother and grand dad keep talking about when they get misty eyed and talk about the "old" Austin.
Good service and interesting gifts.
A classic soda fountain from the 30s; one of very few still serving.
