Checked in and within 10 minutes I was taken back for bloodwork, then straight to room. Dr walked in within 5 minutes. Dr always cordial and asked how I was feeling. Explained what the next steps would be.

Make sure you write down all your questions and concerns before your visit because he doesn't spend much time. I left several visits feeling like I needed more time. That being said, I appreciate everything he has done on my bellhalf.
I have seen Dr. Shumway for about 10 years. He is pointed in his dialog, but always polite and respectful. He has gone to rare measures by medical staff today to ensure I was taken care of. He is a doctor I respect (and that respect was hard earned over time) and trust.

Dr. Shumway did an exam and checked bloodwork on some consistently mildly enlarged lymph nodes that I've had for months to years. I have auto immune disease and he was able to provide suggestions and explanations for my concerns about lymphoma and listened to my concerns and questions. Great first experience with him and would definitely recommend anyone to trust in his care based on how engaged and the time he spent addressing my concerns. I just had my first appointment with Dr. Shumway and I left feeling calm and supported. He took his time with me and explained my diagnosis and treatment options in a way that was clear and easy to understand. He came across as caring and compassionate. Starting cancer treatment is overwhelming, but meeting with him made me feel like I’m in good hands. I’m grateful to have him on my care team.
