Dr. Afshari is amazing. In fact, there is nobody better in San Diego! I had cataracts in both eyes and I elected to do the right eye first followed by the left eye several months later. I had LASIK in 2004 which makes the outcome a bit less predictable. Following the surgeries, I am 20/15 in my right eye which Dr. Afshari set for distance and the equivalent in my left eye set for near/reading. With genuine gratitude I said to Dr. Natalie Afshari, "1,000 thanks"(mil gracias) for being my cataracts eye surgeon. I benefited from her superior knowledge, skills, and experience which gave me much confidence & comfort by knowing I was receiving world class attention. She is down-to-earth friendly and respectful. After experiencing excellent results recovering my 20/20 eyesight, I thanked God for her awesome presence in my life.
First of all, the Shiley Eye Institute at UC San Diego is legitimate! After only about a 10-minute wait after checking-in, I was examined by no less than (3) eye specialists that put me through a battery of tests in each of their respective fields. Each doctor was friendly & personable. Once all of the tests and reports were completed, Dr. Afshari met with me to review the findings. She was extremely kind & knowledgeable and gave me her professional opinion for treatment.
I've had the best experience at Shiley eye center for cataract surgery on both eyes, thanks to Dr. Afshari and staff. Her easy manner, her patience in explaining everything thoroughly, her phenomenal knowledge and skill combine to make her a top notch surgeon. The laser surgeon at a private clinic I'd been to earlier had picked the wrong multi focal lenses for me, ignoring a medical condition I have which would possibly necessitate a future surgery.
