I love this store in (for me) distant Alamosa. I try to stop in every time I’m in the area. Great books, local art, fun miscellany, and very nice staff. I especially love that it’s a cooperative, run by volunteers for the benefit of the community.

After moving from Durango, I never thought I’d be able to find another decent, independently owned bookstore. Boy was I wrong. NGBC has it all from current titles to stickers to journals and more. I even found my favorite brand of incense. They are knowledgeable, well-stocked, and keep money in the local economy. They also feature and support locally owned artists, so we should support them! Do yourself a solid and go grab a good read; you can even take it across the street and sit in the coffee shop and enjoy a happy drink ... read more
