Nice facilities... but WARNING... They use unethical business practices by lying about room availability to sell you on more expensive options. Spoke with others who encountered the same issue.
Every time I am in Western North Carolina I stop here. Yesterday I decided to stay a while and got my feet in the water. It was so relaxing being able to sit on the rocks and listen to the sound of nature, escaping the real world for a few hours. This place is so beautiful.
This place is truly amazing! Great restaurant, great rafting and the Appalachian Trail. I could spend all day there just people watching and meeting the great hikers trying to conquer the trail! Can't wait to get back. BTW, Lee is an awesome rafting captain, truly loves and cares about the river and the job!!
NOC is a distinguished establishment with a great reputation that keeps me returning each time I visit Western North Carolina. Every adventure I have taken with them I have felt comfortable and confident that their employees are knowledgeable and well trained in their particular guided activity, and that they are very safety conscious. We had a fabulous birthday trip on a snowing March 11, 2017 with Lee as our Guide/River Rat. Lee shared some history & favorite places/trees of the Nantahala Gorge. We worked together to get unstuck from rocks. It was COLD, but we laughed, sang songs & celebrated our completion. See ya again this summer!
I attended guide school at the NOC and it was easily one of the best weeks of my life. The instructors are amazing and I'll definitely return to the NOC!
