Nami is Nummy! – I've eaten sushi all over the country, but Nami has definitely taken to one of the top places I've been to. The Unagi is THEE BEST I've ever had and the crunchy roll is fantastic. I've already been there twice in a week and felt so confident in them, I recently took my sushi-virgin parents there for their first experience and they loved it! Another friend had had a bad sushi experience at another local place (starts with a K, ahem) and his experience at Nami has him a changed man and he craves sushi now! Als... read more
Best sushi – I checked out Nami for the first time and I would not hesitate to say that it is the best sushi I've had in the Twin Cities. The restaurant is very spacious and has a very unique flavor to it with its structure, location, and music selection. I was impressed with the size of the nigiri. I highly recommend the crunchy roll! However, the crunchy roll was too expensive like most of the appetizers. Sushi prices were comparable. Five items on the menu were unavailable...this needs to change. Service was friendly and ... read more
Pleasure to recommend! – Nami's sushi freshness has never dissapointed. Creative presentations and recipes. Try the butter fish! Interior design is impressive as well. Look out for some stuck up server staff. Overall number one in my book.
SuperNami – The ambiance is superb. Sushi was better than average for the Cities. Service was a bit lacking even for a slow evening. The wine list was adaquate. Over all mostly worth $200 for dinner for four.
What's up with the sushi craze? – The place is beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and the customers are uber-trendy. Food is ok. Wine selection is great.
Yummy Sushi – I went to Nami for the first time this evening... and I'm very impressed. Not was I seated promptly at the sushi bar, the food was excellent as was the service from both the chef and server. (Especially being a Friday night Downtown.) Not only did they have mouth watering Toro and Uni... which seems to be more rare these days, Nami also has a great selection of nightly specials, including the marinated butterfish. (A must have!!!) I can surely see myself becoming a regular at this new Twin Cities establishment.
Quality Comes at a High Price. . . – Expansive, urban spot with contemporary decor serving quality Japanese fare, including good sushi/sashimi. A fair amount of the menu is geared toward the American palate (teriyaki, maki sushi with avocado or mayonaisse based fillings, etc.) It was empty and quiet on the Tuesday night I visited and the service was adequate but not totally attentive which was surprising as there were 2 servers and only 5 tables to serve. The prices were surprisingly high (average 2 pieces of sushi for just ... read more
Best Nigiri Sushi in Mpls! – My husband and I went to Nami on Friday night. The Saikyo Yaki (broiled butterfish) was excellent. Not quiet as good as the black cod at Nobu--NYC when Morimoto was there but still the best thing I had in TC. The salt grill fish needed a little more salt on the fins but still taste wonderful. Good size sushi and fresh fish! Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. Sayonara, O... and F... and Hello Nami.
Where it's At! – For once a sushi spot that can accomadate all of the people who want to eat there on a Friday and Saturday. The service wasn't excellent - but the atmosphere was superb and the location is prime if you want to venture out after. Way cool. Looking forward to going back!
