To: D1anaG – It seems as though you are the kind of person to rant about something in a restaurant in order to get free food... How unfortunate. You missed out. If you weren't being so crabby then you would have been able to experience everything that Nami has to offer. Their staff is wonderful, and caters to your every need. Also, was it really necessary to use the "race" card, and state the gentlemans name? I don't think so. Karma.
Mediocre food, Horrible service at the bar and restaurant – We went there for my brother's birthday and I wouldn't return. The bar was horribly understaffed. My partner waiting there for 20 minutes to get our drinks as there was no table service. One poor woman appeared to be serving both the bar and restaurant. In the restaurant the waiter was inattentive and lazy - perhaps the earlier reviewer's "Aisan man" continues to wait there despite the review. Courses were slow. We had to flag him down to get dessert and coffee. Whe... read more
incredible sushi – i am consistently blown away by the creations of the 2 primary sushi chefs at Nami - Hide and Cesar. i always sit at the sushi bar and settle in for a large Kirin Ichiban beer or one of the many premium sakes offered. the happy hour specials are decent but half-priced bottles of wine on Sundays and Mondays is also a good choice. i guess i could be considered a "regular," and i am rarely let down. the service is great - i am surprised to read other reviews complaining about the staff. i think they take prid... read more
Pretentious, sushi is okay. – Nami is very clean and has a nice floor layout. Our server was nice but the vibe of the place was very snobbish and plastic. Sushi had a very fishy taste, so the fish might not have been very fresh. Won't be back myself but give it a try, maybe you'll have a different experience.
sushi is okay, service is not – First visit was good, 2nd visit was okay, our 3rd visit I decided to show some friends a good time but we had a crappy waitor (Male Asian dark complexion). We are from the restaurant industry and are extremely forgiving but even this was beyond dismissing. He completely ignored us, was slow to bring anything and we always had to flag him down for service. When we did get his attention, he treated us like we were totally annoying interfering with his time standing around. The kitchen food was t... read more
Great happy hour prices – I've always found Nami has great sushi. It's happy hour prices are great! It can be a gamble with customer service though. I've had really good service and really bad service too. During the week is the best time to go, because it isn't as crowded. You might have to request salt on your edamame.
Terrible Service - don't go here unless you want to be treated rudely – Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the food at this restaurant as the service was so poor, we never even got any food. We had to ask for menus, tell the bartender more than once that we were ready to order and put up with her walking away mid-order to help another customer. Moreover, the place was half full at best on a Saturday night. Hardly an establishment that can afford to be rude. Literally, I have never been treated so poorly. Even after cancellin... read more
First Class Sushi Experience – Nami is phenomenal. We recently moved here from the New York City area, and had a hard time adjusting to the relatively few sushi restaurants in the Twin Cities - then we found Nami. Nami is easily as good as sushi I've had in Los Angeles or New York, if not better. Their rolls are creative and delicious, and their fish is always extremely fresh. I was surprised to read reviewers writing of low quality fish - not on any of the four occasions we've eaten there. Drinks are great, table service is... read more
The wave welcomes you – Nami is a great place. G is an amazing and gracious host. The food sometimes sublime, always good. The space is comfortable and clean. The sushi chefs sophisticated and Tokyoized. Eat the day after the fish has been delivered, relax and enjoy. The miso soup and hamachi kami are the best in the cities. Have eaten here and Fuji Ya nearly a hundred times and I think they are neck and neck in quality, though Nami is friendlier.
Nami has a 4.1 star rating with 60 reviews.
Nami is closed now. It will open on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
