Dr Luszczyk is very knowledgeable and professional as well as down to earth and sympathetic. We did not feel rushed through the appointment or to make a decision right away.
He tells you the truth. He wants to have a surgical consultation with a family member present, to discuss pros and cons. I appreciate his honesty.
After several years of pain in my back and right leg and various treatments including a spinal procedure at University of Iowa Hospital I had the good fortune to consult with Doctor Luszczyk. He recommended and performed delicate surgery on my spine to remove bone growth that was infringing on my spinal nerves, and then installed a spacer in my spine and fused joints together - major surgery. Dr Luszcyk is wonderful! He is very personable, and he thoroughly explains everything about the medical issue you are seeing him about. He is very conservative in his recommendations for surgery. He tells you the pros and cons but doesn’t try to push you into an immediate decision.
Today was my second visit with Luszczykaka Dr. Myles. This visit was surgery consultation he was u front and direct did not hold back everything on the table. If the poop hasn’t hit the fan then really think about your condition and the facts knowing your pros and cons. The decision is the patient when it comes to surgery and my decision was to wait. He knocked and came in pulling a cart and I said "Dr Myles"? And he said "I can be anyone you want me to be" with a chuckle. He then introduced himself and asked about my life and my past fun things I did and jobs I had. Once we got to the medical part he did a wonderful job of explaining where I stood and took through the options I had. Not once did he advocate surgery, which I thought was unusual considering my spinal dilemma. Leaving everything for my wife and me to decide.
