Open since 1919, this classic restaurant was long the bastion of Hollywood industry power dining. With the look and feel of a private Men's club, Musso & Frank Grill rose to fame in the Golden Years of Hollywood, when Irving Thalberg, Clark Gable and the Marx Brothers were among its most celebrated clients. Nowadays, it is still considered the home of the finest dry martini in town. The Filet Mignon is hard to beat and the service is perfect, with just a touch of attitude. If you are not in the mood for beef, try the succule... read more

Only the Best Muso and Frank Grille is the best. It is the oldest resturant in Hollywood,I think, and has been used in countless movies including the recent Oceans Eleven with Brad Pitt and George Clooney. The food there is excelent. The seafood dinner salad is #1 and big enough to split, and the baked scallops are excelent as well. My favorite is their Filet Mignon. It is absolutley to die! The service is very good. It is dark and red inside ( go figure, the Rat Pack and people alike used to hang there). Just remember dress... read more
I like it for the "old factor" (the history) but the food wasn't the best I've ever had - for the price.
Old school Hollywood dining.
Great little place to enjoy a good meal and a trip to Hollywood's past. The master chef, a Frenchman named Michelle, is a friend of mine and has been a this restaurant for over 30 years. For a nice treat, ask him to prepare you his special lamb chops.
Diner quality food for expensive price. I have no idea why people give such a high rating for this restaurant. They have diner quality food, and the price is over priced. The service is not great because they are so "busy". Seriously, better go to a diner than here.
"Classic Hollywood" = Bogus Meal Anytime anyone tells you that you've got to go to some place because it's a "cl assic Holllywood" joint do yourself a favor and stay home that night, make youself some mac and cheese, crack open a beer and rent a movie. You'll be a lot happier. Musso and Frank is the perfect example of an overhyped Hollywood relic. The food is the equivalent of your high school cafeteria with a liquor license. PROS: They serve alcohol CONS: They serve food
although this resturant is pretty pricey ( I believe starting around $18 per person) it's well worth it to be dining in a historical landmark. Musso & Frank's is one of the oldest resturants and all the biggest celebrities have dined there and it's ambiance will take you back to the 40's. a very classy place.
Old Hollywood Charm I love this place. On my first visit, a couple of regulars gave me this advice: "Stick to the menu items from the grill and you can't go wrong." Excellent prime rib and lamb chops. Other items on the menu may sound odd because it hasn't changed since 1919. It IS the oldest restaurant in Hollywood after all. Behind the bar, Manny makes the best martinis in town. No wannabe actor/waiters here. These waiters take their work seriously and their average age seems to be around 70, which adds its own charm.
An Old Hollywood Favorite I thought the food was excellent, the service was great, and the interior was just what you would imagine a restaurant to be like 60-70 years ago. Musso & Frank serves old-fashioned American/Continental food. The menu definitely has the flavor of years gone by: Corn beef and cabbage (on Tuesdays), shrimp cocktails, Welsh rarebit and jellied consommé and chicken pot pie (on Thursdays). Steaks are always good here and I like the fish and chips a lot too.
Musso & Frank Grill has a 4.7 star rating with 4,168 reviews.
