Overrated – While the steaks are good, they're not great. Unfortunately, the quality of food served here has deteriorated over the years.
Worth Every Penny – After traveling the world, I still can not find a steak that holds a flame to the dry aged perfection that Murray's serves. I have been to Murray's on several occasions and can't fathom that people can rate the food a zero! Preparing a dry aged steak is an art and Murray's has created a masterpiece. The last time I was there the British Broadcasting Company was there because Murray's was on the 'Top Ten Steak Restaurants in the United States". Royal Treatment – ATTENTIVE waitstaff. Wonderful, vintage atmosphere. Fantastic food. Go to Murray's because you want to feel good about the money you pay for an evening out and because you want the best food quality and taste. You will never be disappointed.
In business since 1941 – It strikes me that the restaurant had to be around since befor Pearl Harbor. I say this because they have an old Life magazine advertising their silve butter knife steak in a issue dated December 6,1941. So much for history. Simply stated Murray's is the second most over priced and overrated restaurant of this catagor. the only restaurant worse than them is Goodfellow's. Save your money for Manny's of if seafood is your preference then go across the hall to Oceanaire.
overcooked... – I read a review recently touting Murray's lunch burger special. Unfortunately, the burger, while inexpensive, was overcooked and quite bland. I had asked for medium-rare, and received a grey clod. The service was so-so: missed drinks, non-existent waiter etc... Liked the late 1940s decor.
Fit For A King Or Queen! – Cuisine and service that are world-class and do Minneapolis very proud! The barbecue shrimp appetizer is out of this world and so is their sensational garlic toast. Steaks are tender and delicious, and the seafood is top-notch. Romantic piano and violin often make for a perfect romantic evening.
