I bought my MSI P65 Creator in April 2019 and around November it started overheating like crazy, fans running at close to full speed right upon booting up, and remained this way while performing basic tasks like web browsing or opening 1 PDF. The laptop also wouldn't go to sleep when the lid was closed. At the end of the grad school semester, I sent it in to RMA in January and got it back 1 month later. The heat sink and fans were allegedly replaced, although all the problems persisted just as before. At this point, I became... read more

Sold me a defective product. A part that was known to fail with my model failed right after the warranty period ended, and they refused to repair it.

Business response:

Dear Customer, Please reply back with a good contact number and we will have someone reach out to you and see if can be resolved. Thank you,

The point of this review is to outline and highlight the flaws, lack of concern for customer satisfaction, and lack of accountability MSI holds itself to when it comes to their RMA program. A programmed mind you that is typically handling pieces of technology and hardware worth at minimum a few hundred dollars. First, let's just look at the potential worst-case (and most probable) scenario of your MSI RMA from a time perspective. You run the risk of going 45 days without your product. You may be asking yourself how do you fi... read more

Business response:

Dear Customer, According to the RMA number that you were issued RRDXXXXXXXX. We see that the VGA card will ship out today or tomorrow at the latest. The card will be replaced under the RMA we were waiting on some to come in which they did and so the RMA will close and the replacement will ship out after going through all our testing to ensure that the card is fully functional. We do apologize for the time that our RMA process takes. All RMA's are worked on in the order that they are received to be fair to all our customers. ... read more

I bought a laptop in the fall of 2016, a GS43VR Phantom Pro. The audio was terrible and I was told that various drivers would fix the issue. They did not. Also, the computer would blue-screen after an interderiminant amount of time. After a the warranty expired (1 year) the graphics card began to have more problems and the computer ended up crashing at intervals ranging from a few seconds to perhaps 10 minutes. They wanted $50 to diagnose and I was able to have it diagnosed locally for $25. They local repair shop indicated i... read more

MSI's warranty is a joke, why sell monitors under warranty if there a susceptible to accidental damage, sometimes not by user fault. I one day woke up and there was a black line running down the middle of the screen, so I thought maybe it was some pixels that went bad so I sent it in. I get an email saying that the screen was damaged and they weren't going to fix it. On top of that, they wanted to charge me 150$ for repairs on top of the 30$ for shipping it there. I paid 180 for the thing brand new so of course, I'm not goin... read more

Business response:

We are sorry to hear this but our warranty is clearly stated on our website that physical damage is not covered. Weather that be due to accidental damage or customer induced damage. All we can offer is as was offered out of warranty repair where repair charges would apply for this. Again we are sorry but if the damage was caused by in-transit shipping we would suggest filing a damage claim with your carrier to see if you can get that covered. Thank you,

Accidental damage to monitor, was told to file an automated RMA. Though the damage type is very generalized, it left the impression of pay shipping and who knows how much it'll cost ð?¤·â?â??️. I understand I'll have to pay for this repair, but I'd like to know if the cost out ways the worth of the monitor before continuing on.

Business response:

Dear Customer, We cannot give a specific cost for shipping you would need to check with a shipper. As for the repair for the damage depending on the model mainly the screen size could range anywhere between XXX-XXX maybe a little more. The monitor would have to come in to get an accurate quote. Thank you,

MSI rebates system is a complete joke. When they want you to fill in rebate forms and other details, they take every information on you address, phone number, email and so on, but they do *not* send any communication electronically ! It is up to the customer to keep following up on them and they refuse to accept responsibility for correspondence "lost in the mail" - they refuse to use electronic communication despite being a technology company!! I purchased an MSI laptop from FRY's, stretching my budget due to the fact that ... read more

MSI will not honor their rebates. It's been over 7 months and all I get is the run around or strait up lied to. Do not purchase any of their products. I have reached out several times and been given several bogus reasons. Every lie has been documented and is either an email or voice recording of the phone calls. Need to boycott MSI until the change there deceptive practices.

Business response:

We here at MSI do take seriously all rebate claims filed by our customers and go above and beyond in getting any issues that may arise due to any reasons. We are aware of the customer here and have been trying to contact him via email we have the same one on file as posted here. So that we can help resolve this matter as quickly as possible. We have offered to send another rebate card if he has not yet received the one that was mailed out already. But as of now we have had no response from the customer. We have checked with ... read more

Purchased a refurbished laptop for over $1800 and started having problems about 4 months after. I contacted support numerous times until finally it was approaching the 1 year warranty that was listed ON THE WEBSITE so I called in to send it for RMA and they inform me that refurbished laptops only have a 6 month warranty. So I point them to the website saying how I have a 1 year warranty, and THEY CHANGE MY ACCOUNT TO SAY ONLY 6 MONTHS. After talking with a supervisor he offered no solution other than to ship the defective la... read more
