This has been the worst experience I?ve had with any contractor and will definitely make me reconsider using HomeAdvisor for my next job. I discussed the job with Mr. HandyMan, sent pictures of the area that needed to be patched/painted, and they quoted me 5-6 hours to patch the stained area and paint the rest of the ceiling to match. They said they would have a contractor there at 9 AM with the paint and supplies necessary to complete the job. If you are not the first job of the day, their arrival time is completely random.
Would have been 5 stars for scheduling and keeping to agreed time. Technician showed up on the dot. Key though is make sure you know what job is to be done or discuss thoroughly on the phone before hiring. The charge for a no work done visit, as mine was, is significant although I got a little piece of mind that my own handyman skills were on the right track.
The workman was excellent. The hardware supporting the door was old and replacement parts were not available, so he came up with a creative solution that looks good and works fine. On the other hand the visit had to rescheduled a few times, with a couple of no-shows.
