Stopped by there last November after 40 years! It was exactly as I had remembered! Hope the place is spared from the fires!
I love this place, it's a piece of old California. It breaks my heart that it burned. I heard that all people and animals are safe. I hope so. �
MHR is a wonderful rustic family vacation experience. A great atmosphere with hiking, swimming etc. The walk to the canyon to see the "Grandmother (Redwood) tree is a must! There are both farm and domestic animals to pet and feed. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about the local history of the ranch. The food is delicious and includes many items grown organically right on the premises.
I really just love this place all around, the owners are awesome, the breakfast is delicious and great hiking. Spent a week here, wish I could take another!
Go to get away from it all! Side trips to Petrified Forest, Sonoma and Calistoga. A beautiful natural setting.
