I was very impressed by it. It was someplace I have always wanted to see. Drove from my home in Upstate NY to Mt Rushmore. I continued on to Billings, Mantana to visit a relative. I would go again

Such a great experience! I was self-relocating across the country from Atlanta to Seattle for a new career opportunity and Mount Rushmore was a must go to spot on the way! Rude lady at the gate. I asked, simply asked of any Veterans discount.. she said, Why would there be - this is a private land.. on 10/07 about 1400.. Simple question, cuz most parks are free to Veterans if not all are.. instead she had to be all B*** about it. Will never come again.. ;)
The monument is amazing. It amazes me how much work so many people put into making this masterpiece. We went a little later in the day so the restaurant was closed. We wanted to wait for the evening lighting but nothing was open after 5:00pm

It gets better every passing year. It brings me great pride to know that this place is always going to be beautifully kept. I particularly enjoyed seeing the mountain sheep!
I can't describe the feeling when you drive around the corner and you see those faces. It is jaw dropping.
