Beautiful monument, rich history. Christmas week was a perfect time to visit. We had the monument, shops and exhibits all to ourselves. Weather is in the 40s, perfect for full days of walking.
Loved seeing it 'live' after many years of just seeing pictures of it.
Beautiful park! Clean restrooms, friendly gate attendant, delicious hot chocolate. Always wanted to see this, Mount Rushmore is AWESOME! You won't be disappointed. Great family destination.
Worth it every time. If you see this in pictures and think "so, it's some dudes faces carved into a rock" like my girlfriend initially did, you'll be blown away. Park staff are super friendly and helpful.

Been riding through this area for over 16 years in a big rig. Finally picked a load up not even 11 miles away and found out I could Bobtail in my truck to the park. Needless to say as I came around the corner just below the monument my breath was taken away. This is quite simply a beautiful work of art that many will never get the joy of viewing. We are on a trek through multiple National Parks. We've seen many, have the passport stamped, and the oval stickers! Mt Rushmore is the top parks for man made wow factor. To think about the lack of technology and equipment, yet this incredible piece of awesomeness was created. See it during the day, and at night, you won't be disappointed. We went in the winter and the tourist joints were all closed. It may have made the experience just a little more powerful! IG: @AlisonsAdventure
