We thought visiting at night wouldn't be as great as during the day, but the 8pm monument lighting ceremony proved us very wrong! There was a ranger talk, a short video about the four great founders of our country, and then the lighting of the monument alongside the playing of the national anthem. Best experience ever.

It has been my childhood dream to see Mount Rushmore, a tribute to the great leaders of the past. I couldn't believe I have finally seen this awesome work of arts and appreciated the genius of its architect and workers. Very blessed to have made this trip and plans to come back with my grandchildren in the future.
It was everything and more! This was the western point of our road trip and seeing at night was just as thrilling as during the day. The other facilities were just as informative and made for a great day! Thanx NPS and happy belated 100th birthday!
