Rushmore itself is of course impressive. But equally impressive is how the National Park Service manages the huge crowds seeking to see this iconic monument. The approach to the viewing terrace is thoughtfully laid out, including flags of the various states arranged by the date they joined the union.
It's a must see. Came out with my husband of twenty years to celebrate our anniversary all the way from Connecticut! Our youngest daughter came with us. We are having a wonderful time!

Great experience!! You have to see the monument at least once in your lifetime. They've done a great job getting visitors into the parking lot as efficiently as possible with the multiple entrances and helpful staff. The parking lot is large and yet doesn't obstruct the view to the monument. Clean. Excellent amenities. Food court runs efficiently. Docents are helpful. I'm very impressed with how well organized this place is. From how the parking is coordinated, the cafeteria.. all the Rangers are very friendly and informative. Not to mention this is the CLEANEST national park we ever visited. Thank you for all the staff and Rangers for a really awesome job keeping our national monuments safe for all of us.
