About this business

This world-famous, rock-cut sculpture by Gutzon Borglum is one of the United States' best known landmarks. The 60-foot-tall (18-meter-tall) faces of four of America's greatest presidents - George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln - look down from their lofty perch above the luxuriant forests of the Black Hills. Remarkable in their likeness to the presidents, Mount Rushmore is as much a monumental artistic marvel as it is a cultural gem. These four presidents were chosen by the artist himsel... read more

Nice well maintained short trail with impressive carving sculpture! We come in month of May, so less crowded with mostly local tourists. Located in high altitude, its windy and sunny for sure, so don't forget to bring along your hat and glasses, plus make sure to apply a sunscreen. The park is free admission however $10 will apply for a small car if you park in their dedicated parking area, if you don't mind to walk 2 - 3 miles, you can have free parking on the roadside below.

Trish & I have left Mt Rushmore with an "Awe" feeling!! When we first arrived Tuesday night, we were some what captivated by the monument, however, on our return on Wednesday, we watched the video, took the Presidential Trail & stopped at all the stops, which helped us understand the magnitude of the monument!! The reasons behind the four chosen, so when we walked out after the video, I promise you, the monument seemed so much bigger!! So, Trish & I are leaving with this love, respect and admiration for our country! We want ... read more

First time I seen the monument - May 21st - 2017. Was not only a beautiful drive but something worth seeing and admiring. Can't wait to bring my daughter back one day soon!

The country side was very green this trip. I took a couple of exchange students, my oldest daughter, and 4yr old granddaughter. They were very excited as we got or first glimpse of the faces. Of course the weather was unpredictable and a storm front of heavy rain and cold strong wind put a damper on things. The exchange students and granddaughter earned their junior park ranger badges just like my oldest daughter did when she was young.
