The 60-foot-tall (18-meter-tall) faces of four of America's greatest presidents - George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln - look down from their lofty perch above the luxuriant forests of the Black Hills. Remarkable in their likeness to the presidents, Mount Rushmore is as much a monumental artistic marvel as it is a cultural gem. These four presidents were chosen by the artist himsel... read more

We had a great afternoon/ evening here last night. Info, tour, and trail were great. Dinner was a little lackluster, but the pumpkin pie is amazing!!

My memories of this memorial from when I was in my early teens was that it was kind of a let down. Now that I am an adult with three kids, I can say that I was pleasantly thrilled and proud to see, again, such an iconic piece of American history with my own family! We took the presidential trail along the east side and it was WELL WORTH IT... even with kids! God bless the good ol’ USA!!!

My daughter (11 years old) said this was her favorite part of our trip. Mind you we went to bear country, cosmo, mining museum, storybook island, and many other kid specific places and she still said this was her favorite. She loved getting so close, learning about the history, becoming a jr ranger and the hiking. If you haven’t been lately you are missing out. — with Jennie Kramer Todd.
