Mt. Rushmore Memorial is open, roads are good; skies are sunny, winds are brisk. (Avenue of Flags is under construction, and sculpting studio is closed for the season.)

Pictures of Mt. Rushmore don’t do it justice. This is a monument history buffs need to see in person. It only cost $5 for parking and you don’t have to spend any more money, but of course I had to buy friends and family a souvenirs from the well appointed gift shop.

It just wasn’t worth the drive. Then it was super hard figuring out the roads. Plus it was under construction so we didn’t even get to see it. We seen it better before entering the park just pulling to the side of the road. For about 5 minutes, I was in awe. If I was homeschooling, I would suggest it then. — with Andrew Alexander.
