This place is absolutely gorgeous and so full of history! We enjoyed to so much. Hope to go back in the fall. Everyone was very nice and helpful.
Be warned to read all online instructions! No purses, backpacks, diaper bags, strollers, hand held wallets allowed beyond the Welcome Center. If pushing a stroller-good luck! Super historical site! Lots of information and great way to spend a few hours or more on a nice day
Wonderful experience with Thomas Jefferson. We met him 13 years ago in Williamsburg soon after my daughter was born and we were so happy to see him again ‘at home’ at Monticello this week. Bill does such an excellent job. You really get the sense you ARE talking to Jefferson. And w the backdrop of Monticello, i could have listened to him for hours. I felt transported back in time. Don’t miss it!!!
The grounds are impeccable, highly recommend visiting the various sessions they do on the plants on the plantation, the session on slavery and the Thomas Jefferson interpretive session he is amazing and really sneaks in history without you realizing your getting an education. Allow at least 3-5 hours
Beautiful place to visit and the docents are knowledgeable, friendly and provide such interesting insights. They practices for social distancing during COVID were impressive too. A must see
Beautiful! And very organized with the current restrictions.
Covid saftey was a top priority, learned a lot we didn't know. We loved the different talks out around in the gardens.
We demand that you allow the descendants of Sally Hemmings & Thomas Jefferson to be buried in the family plot. Acknowledge their lineage and do your part to correct America's stained history of racial injustice!
