My whole life I have wanted to go to Monticello( I’m 67). The staff at Monticello herds everyone like cattle and took away the very freedom that Thomas Jefferson wrote about in our Constitution! It was a very disappointing tour. I would not go back during this Covid time. Staff and visitors alike all like sheep! The very thing that Jefferson didn’t want for our country! He wanted ALL PEOPLE to have freedom and rights! This is how I do not want to live my life! Be careful who you vote for! Your freedoms are at risk!

My friends and I wanted to visit Monticello because we were in Shenandoah and were fans of Thomas Jefferson. We drove up (about an hour from where we stayed) and we were asked if we had purchased shuttle tickets. We were then told that shuttle tickets were all sold out. Shuttle tickets are limited because they have scheduled time slots for the shuttle. So folks just buy tickets online apparently and buy out all the tickets. Very beautiful, Staff were organized, knowledgeable and practicing social distancing for guests.
Monticello did a great job of disinfecting surfaces, adding foot pedals to doors to reduce hands touching door handles, and allowing people to walk instead of taking shuttles if they wished to. Staff were polite, organized and helpful. I wish all public places would could be as organized and helpful and considerate. Don’t hesitate to visit Monticello. It’s easy to stay socially distant there.
