We visited last summer with our grandchildren, 5 and 10 years old. We took the children’s tour and it was fabulous. The man that conducted the tour knew how to interest the little ones (he even gave them a small stuffed animal to hold during the tour) and answered all the questions of the older children. The garden tour lady was also great, including plants that interested the children and one that they could touch. She also, answered a lot of adult questions. Taking a step back in time and learning about one of our founding fathers in addition to how people lived was incredibly satisfying. I would go back in a minute to relive that time.
Wonderful place to visit, so uniquely fitting to the made that built and kept rebuilding it.

A beautiful property with rich history where they don’t shy away from the racial problems that plagued the founders. Seeing the bell tower of the university of Virginia in Charlottesville from the house in the mountains puts into perspective the Jeffersonian agrarian vision

They could honor their own statements in their ticket purchase policy. They already have a very strict ticket cancel policy, In their own words from my purchase receipt: "There are no refunds unless the Tour is canceled by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation." Well they have cancelled, and I understand why without any issue. But I'm very unsatisfied they intend to keep hundreds of dollars spent on my families tickets when they DID cancel, but have refused to refund, move allowing moving of date.
