The home itself is a beautifully designed and historical treasure. I loved all the Lewis and Clark items. The grounds are lovely.
A great place to visit! I just wished we had planned to get there earlier in the day. Very interesting and worth the time to walk around the grounds. Take advantage of the behind the scenes tour!

nice tasting room, friendly knowledgeable staff, and excellent wine, especially Meritage (Bordeaux blend) , Petit Verdot, and Vignonier.
The grounds were beautiful and well taken care of. The house was in stellar shape. I am happy that the curators are trying to make the home as authentic as possible. The tour guides are knowledgeable and fairly pleasant. If I were to tell anyone coming to see TJ’s for the first time, be aware that the history of the grounds are more focused on slavery than actually Thomas Jefferson and his family. I was so interested about his home and his study room. Our tour guide swung right past it and we were talking about slavery again... read more
