I have been having lumbar injections from him for about 5 years. He is very professional and takes his time telling you exactly what is going on. It helps keep you calm, injecting needles in you spine. It’s not a great experience, but better than the alternatives. It doesn’t cure my problem but makes it better. I trust Dr. Lustgarten! I disagree with some people’s negative comments. If he spent a lot of time talking to each patient we should be waiting longer for an appointment or procedur.

I went to him for epidurals, first 2 injections were great, but the day of my last injection the office was packed, rather than take the time to properly position needle, He hit the nerve! I was on crutches for 2 months, my left leg atrophied until it looked like a polio victim, he put me on pain pills that cost $750 a bottle that did nothing to help the waves of pain I experienced , it took almost 5 years to partially recover. I was a marathon runner and to this day I cannot run! INCOPENTENT!

Dr. Lustgarten was very attentive to my needs. He explained everything in depth and made me feel comfortable with a upcoming procedure to help with my back pain. I now feel very comfortable with having this procedure. Thank you Dr. Lustgarten

Very down to earth, straightforward and addresses issues in a very simple way. I'd recommend him beyond any doubt.

Look at his ratings and it will tell you all you need. Would not recommend. He surely is professional but is rough around the edges, no bedside manner and doesn't show any sympathy for patients. Look elsewhere if those qualities matter to you as they do, to me. Won't see him again. His office staff is the same. Unfriendly as possible.

I have sever back and leg pain - enough that it takes my breath away. They said a nerve block would help. I went to this guy because he was at Baptist and seemed reputable. After an appt. to review the MRI, he then made me wait 2 weeks with 0 meds for an appt. to have the epidural. On the afternoon before the procedure, they called to say they had STILL not gotten the approval they needed and I would have to reschedule. AFTER 2 WEEKS! They didn't care that I was in severe pain. Said tough thru.

This man should not have the words MD in front of his name. He told me that I shouldn't have come into his office without a diagnosis because he doesn't diagnose he can only manage pain. I told him that I was under the impression he had an MD and that was part of his training. He proceeded to tell me that because no other doctor could find the source of my pain, that he wouldn't be able to either so why bother trying. He told me I was making up in my head. He had no sympathy and was rude.
