My visit to Sokoly Dental was a memorable one. It began as soon as I walked into the office and was warmly greeted by Renee’. She checked to see what my insurance would cover and assured that all my questions were addressed. Melissa the hygienist was concerned with my comfort and was very considerate. My daughter was treated by Dr.Minovi in 2009. The CORE BUILD-UP and the 2 crowns broke not too long after it was done. One broke while she was eating and the other just flew out of her mouth after biting into a cookie. Dr. Minovi is a very nice doctor with wonderful staff but I question her competency as a dentist. At the insistence of my son, we took my daughter out of Dr.Minovi's care. It was the best decision we could have made for she would have lost most of her teeth by now if she stayed. You won't find a more professional, efficient but fun and heart warming dentist. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Also, the state of the art equipment is fabulous
I had not gone to a dentist for many years and my teeth were a mess. Dr. Minovi and her staff made me feel comfortable and showed me several videos to help me to understand what was happening with my teeth and gums, then took the time to answer all of my questions so I understood what was necessary. The work was done carefully and without any pain, and throughout it was a pleasant and friendly experience - I actually enjoyed being there. I felt like they really cared about me. And my teeth look great!
I booked a second appointment thinking all would be great as the 1st appointment. The 2nd time around was not so pleasant. The receptionist was rude and they were running late. Twice I was told I need x-rays when I already had them done at the 1st appointment. They even wanted to charge for x-rays when I was leaving. The dentist used a new water treatment to clean my teeth. I felt like I was taking a shower and my teeth did not feel like they were clean. $175 later, I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.
I like Dr. Minovi and had her for my first visit to a Dentist in DC. She is very up-to-date on her technology and knowledge and takes great care of your teeth. There are several problems, however: 1) She does not take any dental insurance and her rates are high so unless you have great coverage with your PPO dental insurance, you will be spending a lot of money and I'm not sure you can't receive the same service with someone who will cost you less; 2) She likes to send out a newsletter once a month discussing an issue of int... read more
