Dr Starkey Great doctor, straight and to the point, willing to aggressively treat my condition to get my arthritis under control. As their is a shortage of Rheumatologists in the area they are all overwhelmed with the number of patients. As with any specialist getting an early appointment is key due to so many patient arriving late it throws all appointments later and out of their control. I have had several Rheumatologists in the last decade Shaskey is my Favorite.
Dr. Shaskey is very good. He tells like it is. He asks the correct questions to determine what you need. I have been seeing him since 2002. My arthritis is stable right now. I do have him to thank for that.
Dr. Shaskey was agitated, impatient, rude and insulting. He brought me to tears. I finally asked him if I had done something wrong and his response was he didn't like the way my appointment got booked and the disorganization of my chart. He kept repeating that my case was too complicated and just referred me back to my EN&T. He told me to book an early morning appointment about the arthritis in my hands (not why I was there) and the assistant wouldn't book it. I'd waited 6 months to see him.
Dr. Shaskey is blunt, and tells you exactly what you need to hear, without sugar coating. He is an oldschool doctor knowledgeable in modern medicine. He may seem a little rough (swears are not uncommon, but not overused), but he means very well, and knows what he is doing. Working in a clinic, he is frequently busy, and it's not unusual for appointments to start later than originally intended. His staff is very wonderful as well.
Lack of professionalism, curt and abrasive bedside manner, inappropriate language, argumentative, exceptionally long wait times, typically an hour, often longer from scheduled appointments without any communication from staff that he was running late.
