I would definitely recommend Dr. Birmingham, he is very friendly. Went to see him about my knee issues, he explained everything to me and let me ask all the questions I wanted, he made sure that I felt comfortable with the decision that was made and he took his time with me. I really do appreciate him he also made me feel safe especially during these times with the pandemic.
I respect Dr. Birmingham and will tell anyone to go to him
I received him very cold, annoyed of my questions, rushed, and just unwelcoming .
Dr. Birmingham explained my plan for treatment from the beginning and 5 months later I am well on my way to returning to the life I had before my accident and surgery.
Excellent visit. Discussed options about my arthritic knees.
I've heard from others he's an excellent doctor especially using robotics. Well I'm the one in a thousand that things didn't go well. On the morning of surgery for a full knee replacement the robot broke down and he had to do it manually. It didn't do well. I spent the next 14 months in more pain than before surgery. He said it was still healing. So I got a second opinion. It turns out the joint was loose and misaligned. So I had it replaced by a different doctor and it's a world of difference. I had knee replacement surgery on 8/19/20. I am very pleased with the results. Dr. Birmingham did a great job.
I have had horrific pain in my hips and back since 2005. So many Drs so many procedures. I Have always refused surgery. The pain in my right hip the past 6 months has been so bad that I’ve wanted to scream and I tolerate pain very well. Pain was 10 plus when I went to see him. He has an AWESOME BEDSIDE MANNER!! Dr. Birmingham simply has the warmest bedside manner and does an exceptional job making sure you, as his patient, are well educated about your condition. I’d never felt rushed or that any question I’d asked was not respectfully answered or explained. Professionally, I’ve worked for years in the operating room with the surgeons of Ortho Virginia and Dr Birmingham is a refreshing addition to this group. He is mature beyond his years and a well educated surgeon.
