In 1915, Mario DeBenedetti began baking Italian breads in Lockport, Ill., using family recipes he brought to America from his homeland. He called his bakery Milano, after the Italian city he remembered from his youth. Demand for his fresh-baked breads grew quickly, and in 1926, the Milano Bakery moved into a new building. Almond crescents are the best in the business. Everything is fresh baked and delicious. Our family used only Milanos for our House Museum tours and teas with mini pastries. Top of the line products and customer service.
They seriously need a remodel but you have to go for the donuts! The Bavarian cream ones are worth the trip. Don't leave without one!
