It is difficult to narrate the experience of tasting Mike's chili for the first time. The recipe has been in the family for several generations and it is no wonder why. The decor is not the reason this eatery has been in business for nearly eight decades. There is usually a game on the television and chili stains on the tables, but this isn't the kind of place you come to for white linen-topped tables. Chili, chilidogs, chili fries and scores of other chili concoctions top the menu.

Such a unique and old time place! They use a cash register from probably the beginning of Mike’s! The food was great! Had the small chili fries and took more than half home!
Went there yesterday for the first time in 30 years. It hadn’t changed a bit. The food was delicious, huge portions and reasonable prices. Definitely a "dive”, but in a good way. It hasn’t been ruined by "progress". It still uses an old fashioned mechanical cash register!
Love the 3rd generation owner Mike! Love the history. Love the people and food! It's like going home to visit and enjoy a great meal and service. It doesn't matter how long between visits, Mike always remembers us and we pickup conversation like we were there every day.
Stevie the cook retired last September hopefully he trained his young replacement well for my Hamburger Steak.
It's been over 10yrs since I've been to Mike's. Unfortunately I no longer live in the area :( Love this place!
