Garbage. I have been a customer since I started driving when I was 16. I am 36 now. 20 years with nearly no accidents until the last 2. I have been down on my luck. After a long long relationship with StateFarm, over 20+ years, time to move on. When we called to get help lowering our rates, we were told, insurance went up for everyone. NO discount for no claims filed in 9 years. No accidents, no tickets. When we canceled, we were told "ok". I can't even express how terrible it feels our good standing and YEARS of being a customer just simply NEVER MATTERED.
We have a roof damage after a rain storm, after paying top insurance amount to State farm for over 10 years without any claims, they treated us like a bunch of trash. The adjuster laughed at us when we asked for a complete assessment of the situation and not a guess, after 5 months of calling and getting passed around by the different agents, we were told that we have to accept their $100 check and move on. State Farm has been the worse about follow up with claims. We had hail damage on our home on April 5, 2023 and this is Oct 2 and still waiting on appraisers to contact us on siding damage because the siding we have is out of production. They do not return calls when we are asked to contact them because we missed a call. Very disappointed and upset. This was our 2nd claim in 2 years. The absolute worst insurance company I’ve ever had. Obvious hail damage to my roof with 1 1/2 inch hits and they picked out 7 2 inch hits and told me they would replace the 7 shingles. Yeah that’s right, seven of them. They have been nothing but an absolute headache. Charging higher rates and nothing in return when I filed a claim.
Been waiting to get a quote. Can't get in touch with company on weekends
Couple of weeks ago my State Farm agent had called me to let me know that my policy would be cancelled in the coming weeks, so that day I told my agent to go ahead and cancel policy which now 2 months later they did an unauthorized payment from my banking account. I’ve tried to dispute it but they are telling my that I won’t get all my money back, if I get any back.
Company engages in illegal activity. They have recently settled multiple class action lawsuits for ripping off and defrauding customers. Our whole neighborhood was hit hard by a storm the only houses that didn't get new roofs were State Farm clients. The contractors run the other way. Additionally they offered less than 1/2 the actual cash value of my total loss. The body shops use the same software and have significantly higher values for the same claim which is exactly what State Farm has been sued for. STAY AWAY!
