I was in town for a wedding at the Chanler and stopped in for a few cocktails before hand. Very nice place! Tim at the bar was excellent! I'll definitely go back!

Great variety and always fresh raw bar. And their not full of pieces of shell after shucking so it goes down clean and smooth. One of the best spots around if you like a raw bar and good food

Absolutely fantastic. Delicious food - we had the Wicked Shrimp, a selection of oysters, the oyster chowder and lobster rolls. Everything, including the service, was impeccable. It's a MUST! Be prepared to spend some money but you are worth it! Enjoy the BEST! We only get one life people - stop looking for a bargain and live it up! Awesome experience!

Not one to complain to management, BUT today I was slightly annoyed with the way certain things were handled. Our food had been ordered for about 45 min when the server came back and told us that a certain item wasn't available. At this point we were very hungry and slightly annoyed. We ordered something different and it came up within minutes. Some of the food was cold but all in all it was delicious. My wife and I have been, many times, to the Midtown Oyster Bar. It's our favorite restaurant in Newport. Great food (best oysters in R.I.) with great service, usually. Yesterday was a little off though. Everything seemed rushed. We just wanted to sit in the bar area and have a few drinks and oysters. But it seemed we were pressured over and over to consider the full menu and order food. Food was exceptional, unfortunately the portion size left us feeling hungry by the end of our meal. Our server forgot about us as we waited 45 minutes before we had to ask her for a dessert menu. Disappointing.
