why didnt i get free drinks – i was at the diner last night and may it was because i was black but the bartender was giving free drinkings and food to the people that he knew. but wouldn't give me at least one. i think it was because it was his friends but i was spending money and i didnt get anything bad service i had to wait until he finshed playing his game just bad service. the waitstaff in the diner was fantastic both ladys where nice and very friendly but the bartender was rude and if i ask for somthing he would tell m... read more

Midtown II If you find yourself here you have either been up way too long or have drank far too much. Sadly, both lead me through the doors. Greasy spoon with normal diner fare...

Best diner you'll find around Center City – Midtown II is the best of the Midtown diners and the best diner you'll find around Center City, period. Silk City, while not that close by, used to be a slightly better alternative that wasn't too far from downtown. Unfortunately since they reopened their menu has been redone into some kind of Steven Star knock off and their diner has totally lost its charm. :) – Nice friendly environment to take your family and friends without breaking the bank. Large menu selection with above average food. Friday and Saturday nights after the clubs close is hard to find seating but that is to be expected.

Classic diner experience – I've never eaten at the Midtown II, but I have eaten at the Midtown III in West Center City a few times. It's open all night and has an enormous menu. Service is quick, but not doting. Prices are reasonable. This is the sort of restaurant you'd think would be on every block in a city as big as Philadelphia, but they're not.
