Booked a room on a Friday night. Place was dead, pulled in at 9pm and got the closest spot. Get to our room and move a pillow and immediately see bugs crawling around. Brother put his bag on the night stand and there were bugs there and in the bed sheets. Immediately went up front to get a refund and the lady says "they are only ants" and she can get us another room. Simple lodging. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean.
Just ok. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, but not in very good condition, especially in the bathroom. Plenty of repairs and maintenance needed to be properly done.

Room was good and close to the ISU campus where we were spending our evenings at hockey games. Also just a short drive to Historic Downtown Ames for post-game activities. Downside was primarily the difficulty in communication with site staff, and, not feeling welcome at this facility.
