Just OK. – VERY disappointing. I've heard the hype on Michy's for a while and decided to finally give it a try. I was not impressed. The food was ok, not great and very salty. We ordered one of the specials as an appetizer, it was a small portion and had NO flavor, better yet when we got the bill our flavorless appetizer was $75! once for fun,twice for food and then go somewhere else....... – Service is fine if not a little too friendly , not really professional, what you need to remember here is that this is a family affair and that her parents virtually eat there every night. Service is lacking – It's New Year's Eve and I just left Michy's a few hours ago after a prix fixe tasting menu with flight of wines. This is the second time that I've dined there, and though I've really, really tried to be positive about the experience, I can honestly say that it's been so-so. Off the beaten path – Located on Biscayne Blvd. this restaurant packs them in. The menu is refreshingly unique and offers half servings as well as full plates. Being a man who loves to eat I was a little disappointed on the small size of the full plate. I am scared to think what the half plate looked like! Michy's rawks! – Simply delectable! Try the pan seared foie gras on a tender sweet corn biscuit with maple syrup. The ambiance is casually elegant and the crowd knows what is good for them! Service was second to none, in a non-frumpy way.
Rip off – On Saturday night we made a reservation for 7:30, but arrived at 7:00. Getting seated early was no problem, and the service was generally ok. My wife picked the quail dish. I had the Salmon. In a word our food was mediocre at best. My fish was OK, but small and not worth the price. The quail, however, was just bad. We were expecting a nice bird for the price. Fresh and Innovative – Finally a restaurant that isnt stuffy and serves thoughtful food and wine. They are trying to satisfy the whole neighborhood rather than just make the critics and selective diners happy. Its a new experience for Miami, one that was way overdue. The flavors are clean, fresh and ingredients awesome. Congratulations for a great attitude, wine list and experience.
Bad dining experience – I just finished dinner at Michy's, not even decent food, horrible service! Michys seem to have a knack for some critics, but leaving me decidedly underwhelmed. It's one of those places where the food is detailed on the menu in an absurdly overwrought and precious fashion, and ends up being simply not that great. Nor, in my opinion, particularly creative. We were unhappy with Michy's – Following several articles we went to try Michy's on Biscayne Boulevard, the place is a little funky but the mood is good. The service was pretty much decent, not surprising considering the average Miami 'standard' is really low. As far as the food goes, they had just too many 'misses', I was dissapointed specially by a bland conch appetizer and my husband seriously unhappy with a ropa vieja Cuban braised meat that was both overly spiced and too greasy.
