I attended appointments with my mother when she went to Dr. Novak. If she had followed his instructions for prescribed medication, she would have died immediately (I'm not exaggerating). The pharmacist said this medication required a slow increase dosage by 100 mg every two days. (Novak, however, had clearly said go from 100 mg to 1800 mg immediately.) An existing patient of Dr. Novak’s who had not been to see him for 2+ years, I called his office after suffering a serious migraine and discovering the meds he had given me had expired. His nurse/assistant, Carrie/Kerry, was argumentative and rude, fixating on whether I should be classified an existing or new patient rather than focusing on giving me an appointment. I relocated to Florida in the last 2 years and needed a specialist to treat chronic migraines I have had for 30 years, He has proven to by an excellent resource/doctor to continue my extensive treatment, and I consider my self lucky to have found him, with my experience with my condition we often collaborate on the best treatment to improve my quality of life . He is up on current research and has always been available when I have needed his assistance.

I was seeing him concerning bad headaches and dizzy spells. After many test he was unable to come up with an answer. He then had a PA see me instead of himself. I called the office when I had a very bad attack and was told they would let doctor Novak know and he would get back to me. He or the Pa never did. I already had a an appointment scheduled with the Pa three weeks from that time. When I got there they had me sitting in the waiting room for more then an hour past my scheduled time.

The doctor diagnosed me with migraines on my first visit. He prescribed3 medications. I expressed concern about possible side effects related to age,70, and current meds he told me that my risk of having a stroke far outweighed side effects. Told me I had migraines because I "looked like every other patient who comes into my office." After taking the meds, losing feeling in extremities, experiencing severe dizziness, blood pressure of 165/90 and 3 trips to ER I stopped meds and found a new doc.

First appt had been scheduled +2 weeks. I left my insurance info when I called to make the appt and was told they would contact me if there was a problem. The day of the appt, I arrived 15 minutes prior to my appt time, as instructed and handed over all the filled out 10 pg+ paperwork, waited 10-15 min in the lobby, taken into the back to give my vitals - as soon as she was done , the front desk staff came in and told me they were not in-network. Very unprofessional. Wasted my time!

Wouldn't use his MRI facility because it was going to cost me $800 vs $300 at another. Long story short, I went to the other MRI facility, when he found out I didn't use the one he was affiliated with he dropped me as a patient. What a piece of work.
