In March 2011 "Mi Patria" opened becoming the first and only Ecuadorian restaurant in Des Moines. Owner Cesar Miranda (Ecuadorian) with more than fifteen years of experience in the restaurant business, accomplished his dream by bringing the aromas and flavors of his country to Des Moines. I had the Arroz Con Pollo and my wife had the Hornado Con Mote. Both of the meals were excellent. The waiter there was very nice. I am not from the area but this place makes me wish I was!

Empanadas were fantastic! We sampled a few of the entrees including Ceviche, Tilapia and Ho rnado. Con Mote. Everything was wonderful including great service!
