OMG, what a day to remember at The Dallas Sumphony. Romeo and Juliet was the star, but all three compositions were wonderful. I miss Demare playing first flute.

Jaap van Zweden brilliantly conducted Brahms and Stravinsky on Sunday. Simone Lamsma showed her incredible mastery on violin during the difficult Brahms Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major. Lamsma played the incredible tonal range of the 1718 "Mlynarski" Stradivarius violin leaving no one guessing what the violin was capable of in her hands. The "Right of Spring" was also terriffic. We always have the most amazing time seeing the DSO at the Meyerson! The place is beautiful, and we've never been disappointed with the sound/acoustics, no matter where we sat :) The staff are always so nice; last year (2015-16 season) when I was buying season tickets, the young woman at the box office was SO helpful with recommendations and describing what each show would be like -- she even hummed several pieces for me -- it was impressive!! This just shows what wonderful people work at the Meyerson, even if they're not on... read more
