We chose a stay-cation during our local Spring Break so we chose the quieter Bay Inn at the Lani Kai across the street. It was quiter but waaay older. You could see what appeared to be water marks from a flood painted over. Albeit we were on the 1st floor we had no chairs outside of our room to enjoy the scenery and sitting arrangements inside were scarce. But we were there for beach fun and we had it. I won't stay at the lani Kai but I go parasailing, jet skiing and eating there. All have been great experiences.

I'm torn between a 2 for fair as in this place is old but they do a fair job on cleaning and maintaining this old place but a definite 5 for the balcony view and the beach! We are seniors and still enjoy a good time but sure glad we missed the Spring Break crowd! We had issues with our first night & room and Jacob and the staff were very professional and moved us for the next 3 nights to a room on the end away from the noisey late night party crowd. Fun outside but very dirty, and drunks roaming the halls and fighting all night...called security 4 times, I think they finally stopped around 445... worst hotel I ever stayed at....honestly didn't care about the non drunk paying guest!
We couldn't even get waited on at the rooftop bar last Sunday and we were the only 2 there at the time. Bartender looked at us and continued doing whatever he was doing. Won't be back.
Something for everyone every time we go. My favorite vacation spot!
