I love Menards but went to the Ankeny Iowa store tonight and I felt like I was in a gay bar. I have no issues with gay people but cashiers-wearing rainbow masks well it’s unprofessional. I will not be shopping with Menards if this is the type of crap allowed. Be gay I don’t care but I was embarrassed for the chain.
All I wanted to do was buy a shelving unit, but they had one board left for the shelf in the aisle. Normally, no problem. It took almost 30 minutes to find someone to see if they may have any more or an alternative that I could use. All I got from an employee when I asked for assistance was “I don’t know man...you need to check in building materials”. After spending another 10 minutes trying to find someone, I gave up. I’ll pay more and go to fleet farm next time.
I realize that Black Friday is a stressful time for workers. I asked 2 different workers for help trying to find items. They were very rude & couldn't tell me where to look for the items I was looking for. Left empty handed & disappointed.
This place sucks. Save big money. Nope. Wasted my time 2 times in the last 3 weeks. Don't have the product in the yard or if they do have it, it is in terrible condition. Today I wasted 25 minutes on rock salt thst they found with ripped bags etc. 3 weeks ago they could not find 1x8 or 1x4 and after they hunted for a half hour they came back and said they are out. Wife was just there and asked for help loading something. She had my two year old daughter and nobody offered help until a nice gentleman set the punk straight. Unbelievable how women are treated here. Isn't that your JOB to help people??????
I like Menards. Just wish they would get with the times and do rebates online rather then making you wait 2 months to get your rebate through the snail mail. Also, what kind of website does not have reviews these days? Like I said, I dig Menards but these are two major negatives to me.never had an issues with the Ankeny store by the way
Ordered 2x4s and 2x6s to be delivered 30 miles north they delivered all 2x4s Then we had to wait nearly an hour returning the wrong lumber while they had "computer issues" I will never buy at Menard's again!
