Good pork chops and eggs. The hash browns could have been cooked a little more. Good coffee. My friend said the gravy on the biscuits was not homemade. It actually looked kind of gross, like melted plastic. The dishwasher had a bug up his ass about something and kept slamming stuff around and bitching at the wait staff. That was entertaining
Went there for breakfast around 6:30 am. The food was really good. The portions were large and served hot. Our sever was really nice although I dont remember name. She kept the coffee cups full with a friendly smile. I heard her call a few customers by name so they obviously have regulars. I would recommend Mel's Diner to a friend!

Great food, fun waitresses, our favorite diner by far! It's a drive for us but we'll worth it and the prices are good also.

It was so neat visiting Mel's, the inspiration for the diner used in the old TV series "Alice." The food was wholesome and tasty. Definitely very good and ranking a notch or so below some of my very favorite diners, so above average though not quite in a league of its own. The chicken fried steak and eggs breakfast was worth ordering as was the clubhouse sandwich.
