Best chicken fried chicken ever, great housemade onion rings...chicken fried chicken sandwich is a big piece of house battered chicken breast...not the usual frozen box everyone else uses...this place is a gem!!

I've been all around Texas trying Chicken Fried Steak, many say the have best. Mel's is the top #1 best in my book! After 6 years away, still the same old Mel's....Tomball well that's another story, that 249 has really changed.
I just had my wedding at TownHall Texas and Mel’s was one of the vendors included in the all inclusive package. Jeff was a pleasure to work with. The food was great and our ring bearer even finished three plates! Highly recommend!
Unbelievable food, I had the catfish and my wife had the chicken fried steak , topped off with a slice of pecan pie. Portions are big but not to the point where you feel like you can’t move. Well worth the drive.
I'm giving a 4 only because it took an hour to get our food. Our waitress was horrible she was not attentive she blame the guys who bring us out food and didn't put the ticket in. The manager did apologize and gave us free desert. Food was delicious.
Full to the fullest!!!!! Burgers and chicken fried steaks AMAZING!!!!!!!
