It's O.K. – The food is good, the staff really good, but the place is always packed with tourists. I know it's the Fisherman's Wharf, and that's where they all congregate, but they still are a pain. The view is nice, nice special occasion, or romantic restaurant, if you are lucky not to be around tourist's children.
terrible...simply terrible – even though we had a $75 gift certificate, it STILL wasn't worth it. the crab cakes were meh (tasted frozen), chowder was ok (salty), and then we got to the entrees...the "cajun" ahi tuna tasted like it fell on the floor. who pairs CAJUN seasonings with soy sauce and wasabi?! and the sea bass with pilaf and veggies tasted more like marie calendars than "SF cuisine." the dessert was the only halfway decent thing but the coffee smelled like wet towel. service was unprofessional. view was nice, but ... read more
overpriced poor service – host and hostess were aloof - we had reservations and when the time had passed with the rude bar person we went back to question them and they lied to us. Great view and ambience - waiter was so overtaxed he got lost several times - very pricey - 2nd worst dining experience we had the whole week
Location Only – This place is nested nicely at Ghirardelli Square, but the atmosphere and view seems to be the only thing you pay for. The service was inattentive, and the food was just average. Especially the seafood dishes, both appetizers and entrees, were not out of the ordinary -and since it IS a seafood restaurant at the bay in San Francisco, shouldn't it be?
View, seafood and comfort – Fine dining experiences more than once, good bar, good menu, good location and fun people watching.
Horrible Service – If McCormick & Kuleto's was not located with a nice view and in the heart of the tourist area, it would not have survived. The service is miserable - from the host to the waitstaff. They seated our party at a nice round table and then the waitress continually asked me to move my chair everytime she visited the table next to us. The waitress hardly spoke english and disappeared for long periods of time. The food is overpriced and is definatley not the best in the area. If you want to impress visitors with a... read more
Worst Dining Experience Ever – I have read all the reviews and I would have to agree with TSI. We were seated and our waitress just ignored us afterwards. After about 25-30 minutes another waitress came to take our order. She apologized and said that her tables were on the other side of the dining area. I demanded to see the manager and the manager told the first waitress to explain to us why she didn't help us. Her explanation didn't hold true because she served everyone around us and walked right by us, with no explanation... read more
good food and view – This restaurant is very nice to dine at. The food was excellent but the service was not all that good. Just plan on spending a while for your order to even be placed and maybe even longer to pay the bill. Otherwise everything was great!
View included with price of food. – I must say the decor and view are breath taking but the food (for what you pay for) may leave you gasping. Some of the food is great-- chowder, crab cakes, and fresh oysters but the specialties leave a lot to be desired. A huge hunk of escolar that is dry on the outside and raw on the inside is not palateable. The rice was sticky and gummy. The vegetables were great with an almost sweet an sour sauce. The best part of dinner were the appetizers and the desserts. The service was great for m... read more
