Lovely views, average food. – Being a nyc foodie and first time SF visitor, some local friends suggested I meet them here my first night in town (they lived nearby). It's a large, airy restaurant with lovely views. It struck me as a nice family-style place, especially good for large groups. Overall the food was average - I would not call it gourmet. (The lobster rolls were particularly tasty). The menu is quite varied - something for everyone. While it's not on the level of other, more "fine-dining" places in town (see my re... read more

Birthday disappointment – On March 5th my husband and I had dinner for my fiftieth birthday at McCormick and Kuleto?s. The service was slow, with no explanation of the extended service time between the delivery of our salads and our entrees. When dinner did arrive, I had to send the fish back because it wasn?t cooked all the way through. (My husband would only later admit that his fish was still just a bit raw at the very middle, just a bite or two.) My iced tea glass was refilled only once. Thank goodness it was just the tw... read more

Sweeping bay views and an expansive seafood menu highlight this Ghirardelli Square restaurant. – In Short The dining room offers a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and Aquatic Park. The restaurant is serious about its seafood, serving a whopping 2,000 oysters each day. Seafood staples such as poached salmon and fried prawns make up the bulk of the menu. More uncommon selections include smoked sturgeon with sevruga caviar, and crispy smelts in tomato puree.

wonderful view, average food – I wanted to love this place! Even though we live in the city we like to wander down to Fisherman's Wharf on occassion to catch a glimpse of our city by the bay through the eyes of a visitor. We decided on lunch at this restaurant and we certainly had a lovely time, the view is great, atmosphere very different than hot Missioin hipster spots we're more accustomed to which was appreciated, but the food was really just okay. Crab cakes were good, but the $17 fish and chips weren't worth the price.... read more

Just Okay – It was just as I expected, okay food, decent service, nice views. You can definitely get a better meal elsewhere. It's not bad, but it's nothing special.

Good location, average food – If you want to eat with one of the best views of the bay, then this is your place. Lunch specials aren't bad and the food is solid, but definitely over-priced! It's a better place to get a drink and enjoy the view than actually spend money on a meal there. Leave the eating to the tourists and poor saps that have to work in the neighborhood and don't have anywhere else to eat. Nice restaurant, but seems like it's trying too hard to be a fancy restaurant without the food quality to back it up. Ser... read more

Service is slipping – While I enjoyed our meal, it wasn't perfect, considering the prices. Service was pretty good although the waitress didn't notice that I didn't have a knife and I had to wait a few minutes to get one. The crab louie we split as a salad was quite large and tasty. And, the salmon was cooked perfectly. However, the vegetables looked like they had literally been thrown on the plate, and the roasted potatoes seemed to have been cooked yesterday. The bread wasn't sliced well enough, and we had to tear it apart... read more

worst experience for the money – A man wearing some sort of white cook's jacket came to my area, started yelling to the waitress, his hands were pointing to my table's direction. The music was loud so I couldnt make out what he said; only words like "...reservations only...". Caesar salad. The romaine lettuce was not even cut. Clam chowder soup. The creamy condensed soup texture was blotchy and spotty, hence taste bad. Deep fried calamary. It was as big as a pinky chopped. Mashed potato. Extremely salty. Pacific Mixed Grill ... read more

Aaah..... – Visiting city for the first time on business. Just looking for place to have good dinner and relax. Recommended by conceirge at hotel. Everything was perfect. Food was delicious. Had seared tuna, crab cakes and roasted corn chowder. All were perfect. Sat at bar. Drinks were cold and quick. Bartender was good to talk to. Service was attentive and above average. Would recommend to anyone visiting San Francisco.
