The McAllen Botanical Garden, also called the McAllen Nature Center, is a picturesque park in the heart of the city. At 59 acres (23 hectares), it is one of the largest of its kind and is rich in flora and fauna. This verdant space boast old trees and dense meadows that are home to numerous species of birds, butterflies and reptiles, including the endangered indigo snake and horned lizard. It offers plenty of opportunities for trails and hikes, and is also a good picnic spot for the family.

Great place to see native plants and also birds. Great events everyday, like yoga or nature walks.

This park is just a tax eater its closed most of the time, they are always doing something to it and you never see anything new. They don't let you in with bikes and they ask you for money in the entrance. 30 years ago it was a great place, now it's a joke!
The atmosphere was peaceful and calming , and liked the fact that their was someone to greet me!!�������
