My dad used to bring me here as a girl. I returned to Jackson recently and had lunch at the Mayflower. The food was great, classic cafe fare, just as I remember so many years ago. The owner was great to chat with and I will be making it a point to get up to Jackson for a great meal from time to time.
Great family-owned cafe. Service was terrific and the coconut cream & lemon ice box pies were amazing.

Ok so I went here because it was on a list as the most iconic restaurant in MS, in a huffington post article I read. I ordered the crabmeat dressing which I expected to be like a thanksgiving dressing but with crabmeat. Lol. It was basically just crabmeat in some marinade and a few shrimp and oysters on top. It was good but if you go I do not suggest ordering that. Next time I will order the red fish, I hear great things. Staff was very friendly!
First visit. Excellent food.
