Mike – After reading the reviews I almost didn't go. I was surprised and happy that I went. The place is unusually comfortable. Service was great actually, food was excellent and very cheap but the drinks were way over priced. I went on a Saturday and the crowd was really great, at least that night. Nice, attractive women. Everyone cordial overall.

Well it is in the MARINA! – The Matrix is a bar in the marina! Thats why I go there. If I wanted a mission-style bar I would hit Valencia Street.

matrix?-NO thanx! – The matrix is the epitome of the marina: snobby, haughty people with little to offer other than their new hairdo. The management and bartenders are a step below the rest of the clientele. Don't expect to be served unless you've given the bartender your phone #. There are plenty of other bars with a much better vibe than this one.

FANTASTIC – Fantastic service. Friendly bartenders. Excellent drinks. Terrific manager. I will be going back... every chance I get. Go ahead and give you money to other local bars, spread the wealth. I go back to MATRIXFILLMORE to enjoy a place where they value everyone, to enjoy the scene, and wonderful display of service.

The Matrix is in the Marina, therefore it is going to attract a Marina crowd. If you are comfortable with this crowd, then you will enjoy the space. If not, you will probably hate it. It is beautifully designed with an obvious amount of money behind it. There are plenty of seats and a very sexy fireplace. The drinks are on the expensive end. The service at the tables is spotty at best, but the service at the bar is dead on. You will find attitude in this bar, but mostly from the guests and not the staff. Too Sexy! – This place is straight "she-she!" The place is incredibly beautiful and stylish! The restrooms have tv's in them, and the paper towels to wipe your hands with, have the matrix fillmore name printed on it! Talk about going all out! The staff was friendly & cool! On top of that, everything is just plushed out! The people that lounge there are sophisticated & stylish! If anyone has a problem with this, they must not like getting spoiled! Beyond Bad Bartender – Went there to get one drink after dinner with some friends. I knew that they had a vodka that I like named Hangar One. So I asked for one, and after about a half pour the bottle runs out. The bartender said that she would go get another bottle. She comes back a few minutes later and says, oh the bottle is in an unopened case and she was not going to open it. So she says, i will just charge you 7 instead of 9 bucks. yuppieville at it's worst?? – this place was completely packed at 10:00pm. After fighting our way to the bar to get an overpriced drink, stood there getting pushed and elbowed until we could find a different place to hang out. We did finally find some comfy stools near the fireplacd which was nice, but other clientele was edgy and rude to us.
