One of the charms of the bar is the descent. You need to take the stairs down to garden-level, getting that feeling you are sneaking into some dark joint for a secret meeting. Exposed brick walls and a big fireplace greet you upon entrance. Order a white wine sangria while snacking on appetizers that are far better than you'd find at your local bar. In this small space, it's hard to imagine there would be room for a group, but if you call ahead, there is a lounge in the back that can accommodate up to 15.

Love it! Would definitely go back when we are in the area (we went twice in our visit to chi this time). Great food, service and drinks!
Just happened to walk in here tonight after other places we went to were an hour wait. This place blew my expectations away. The service was on point, the food was delicious and not overpriced. Drinks were good. I had the mushroom quesadillas and my friends had the burgers and both were fantastic!!! Music was great too. I will be back!!
Great atmosphere! Cute Bartender. Loved the Pearfect martini! Was a little bummed out about the ice in it but it tasted great!
I love this place and have been coming here for over 15 years with my wife. Whenever possible we always have Alex as our server. Alex is the best !!
I really loved this place! The food was excellent! Service was SUPERB! Great atmosphere and patio! Christina was our server both nights and she really shined! It was conveniently located steps from our hotel! The staff was very friendly! The owner was very much invovled, interacting with guest and this I rarely see when I dine out! The food is excellent the service even better. We plan to make it a regular stop during our frequent Chicago visits. Affordable, great music and no pretension.
