I was admitted recently with a spontaneous pneumothorax and the staff in the ED were outstanding. One nurse named Carrie (sp?) in particular was very compassionate. Once I was on the med floor the staff were equally amazing. Lisa on the transplant unit was fantastic. Thank you MGH!
They saved my life back in 1993. I was 23 years old, and needed a special heart surgery. Mass General was the nearest to offer this surgery at the time. Many hospitals had no training with this. Im happy to say I am now 50 years old and I have had a perfectly beating heart since the surgery was performed. I am forever grateful to Mass General for giving me a chance to live again❤️

Dr. Leigh Ann Dageforde saved my life January 20, 2019 with a full liver transplant. The MGH transplant unit is amazing, the whole entire unit. I feel blessed that through out a terribly hard journey, they saved me and brought me through this ordeal. My life has forever been changed, but, I'm alive and well.... Thank you Mass General, my anonymous donor and especially, Dr. Dageforde for the extraordinary work you do!!!!
Every person on their medical staff is outstanding to say the very least. They listen, learn, treat, and talk to you as though you are the only patient.

My husband just had same day surgery there & we are completely blown away with the care he received. We are from Connecticut and I am an OR nurse. We turned to MGH because we knew they had an outstanding reputation as did Dr James Burns. For a larger hospital to have that family community feel is really something special. From check in to pre op to recovery and discharge, safety was always priority and no corners were cut just to move things along.
